If you have one of these plans, you may still see Dr. Cen as a self-pay patient and submit a super bill for potential reimbursement.

Self-pay

Why patients choose to pay directly.

  1. 1. Access to Dr. Cen’s full expertise

Insurance limits treatment to pain conditions. Self-pay lets Dr. Cen treat the whole picture — fertility, hormones, digestion, mental health, and more.

  2. 2. No referrals, no pre-authorization

Start with a simple inquiry. No waiting for insurance approval, no referral paperwork, no treatment limits per year.

  3. 3. Flexible, unhurried care

Without insurance constraints on visit count or duration, Dr. Cen can design your treatment plan around what you actually need.

HSA and FSA receipts

If you plan to use Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) funds, confirm acupuncture coverage with your plan administrator. Time Extend Acupuncture can provide itemized receipts and super bills for your records.

Check your specific HSA/FSA rules before assuming reimbursement.

What is a super bill?

A super bill is a detailed receipt that Dr. Cen provides after your visit. You submit it to your insurance company for potential reimbursement — even if Dr. Cen is not in your plan’s network.

Reimbursement amounts vary by plan. Contact your insurer to ask about out-of-network acupuncture benefits before your first visit.

  2. Receive your super bill
